Since our beginning in 1932, Arends Bros. has become a family within a family. We care about your business and show pride in everything we do. Our Melvin, Hoopeston, Urbana and Ashmore locations are staffed with over 100 talented and hardworking people, each important for the work they do to make Arends Bros. an award winning dealership. John Deere has honored our Parts, Service and Sales Departments with many awards such as Sig-nature Dealer, Manager’s Club and World-Class Dealership recognition. These awards are only given to a few dealers nationwide.

Company Profile:
In the fall of 1932, Henry Arends along with sons Roy and Walt, acquired the franchise to sell John Deere agricultural equipment in Melvin, Illinois. Among their first sales that fall was a model "D" tractor with steel wheels and a Model "C" 2-bottom plow. After two years, the business was moved from the back of a grain elevator to a large brick-front building that housed the dealership for the next 43 years.
In 1946, Phil Arends joined his father Roy in the business. By 1948, Phil's brother Rick had joined the operation. Soon after, the name was changed to Arends Bros., Inc.
In 1979, after more than 40 years of expansion on Main Street in Melvin, the dealership was moved to the town's east side. This 14-acre location along Illinois Route 54 is the cornerstone of our commitment to serving you with quality and efficiency.
